Can I use a spreadsheet for Making Tax Digital?

Yes, in some cases. HMRC says software can either create digital records or connect to your existing records, such as spreadsheets. You still need software that sends your quarterly updates to HMRC, and you must not copy figures by hand from one place to another once a record has been sent.
